My passion for clay modelling has found a new meaning and life with my daughter shobini's creative jewellery designs and breathtaking colour combinations.
As an art designer and instructor,I am passionate in making murals and jewellery that challenge an artist. My expertise is in Indian tribal and folk art widely reflected in all my works.
Lately I have begun to make terracotta jewellery and I have become emotionally involved in this form of art because of my childhood memories. As a kid,I was brought up by my beautiful and creative grandmother who introduced me into this field of art at my very young age.My backyard was filled with clayey soil and my grandmother lovingly and creatively made" choppu samaan"(kitchen utensils for kids) and countless Lord Ganesha idols....
She then baked them in the open fire stoves which we had in our backyard to cook huge meals for our family functions. At first when I touched this clay to make the jewellery ,I was overcome with a lot of undescribable emotions which made me contact to my grand mother. This passion runs deeply in my family because my daughters too have joint me in making the jewellery.
Due to my mother's inspiration and my daughters interest I have begun to make fusion jewellery. From the time I have begun to make them I have gifted and sold countless pieces to my friends. This and the enthusiasm of my daughters has resulted in me opening this online store....
